Forget Prince HarryHarry Styles is the real father of royal baby Archie, according to Spanish TV.

The former One Direction singer was accidentally named as the dad in an awkward gaffe which saw his name flash up alongside a picture of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with their newborn son.

Spanish entertainment show Cuéntamelo Ya! mixed up the two Harry’s as they reported coverage of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s TV debut.

The words “Harry Styles y Meghan Markle” were written alongside a picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex cradling Archie outside Windsor Castle.

Viewers were quick to capture the footage, with one tweeting a screengrab alongside the words: “Aww Harry Styles and Meghan (sic).”

Another fan tweeted: “Harry styles: singer, writer, actor, model, gucci ambassador, MET gala cohost, tv producer, fashion icon, father of royal baby.”

A third, who referred to his Met Gala appearance, wrote: “After being crowned king of camp harry styles (25) decided to become the prince of England and also a dad just 24 hours later, we congratulate and wish him all the best (sic).”

The young royals welcomed their first child together at 05:26 BST on Monday morning. He weighed 7lbs 3oz and is seventh in line for the throne.

Meghan said her son has the “sweetest temperament” while Harry joked their “bundle of joy” is already showing signs of facial hair.

Celebrities were quick to congratulate the couple on the arrival, including Victoria Beckham and Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who joked Archie’s middle name had been inspired by his co-star Harrison Ford.

“Here’s me with William & Harry pitching the idea of naming any future royal baby after their favourite #StarWars actor,” he tweeted alongside a picture of himself talking to Princes Harry and William.

“Happy they chose Archie HARRISON Mountbatten-Windsor, but regret not being more specific. Should have pitched favourite #StarWars actor WHO PLAYED LUKE.”

George Clooney ruled himself out of godparent duties, saying his appointment would be a “bad idea”. He also urged people to be “kinder” to Meghan now she is a mother.
