‘I was drunk’: Liam Gallagher says truce with Noel was ‘in his head’

Liam Gallagher has revealed he and brother Noel never made up, revealing that the so-called truce was all in his head.

The famous siblings have been feuding for years, but they appeared to put their bad blood behind them at Christmas when Liam claimed the High Flying Birds frontman had “reached out” to him.

Breaking the news to his two million followers he tweeted: “I wanna say Happy Xmas to team NG it’s been a great year thanks for everything looking forward to seeing you tomorrow AS YOU WERE LG x (sic).”

Asked by a fan if he will have a meltdown if Noel doesn’t get in touch, he replied: “He's already reached out.”

He then added: “We’re all good again.”

But Liam has now admitted the truce never took place. Speaking to NME, he said: “In my head [we called a truce]. Because it’s Christmas innit and me mam’s always going, ‘Look, calm down,’ so I had a couple of drinks and thought, you know, I’ll put it out there. But it’s not happening, is it?”

The siblings famously fell out in 2009 when Oasis split, with their rivalry reaching new heights last year after they both released solo albums.

Liam frequently referred to Noel as a “potato” while Noel branded Liam a “village idiot” who is “not well”.

Liam reignited their feud earlier this week by claiming his brother is worse than President Donald Trump after being crowned Godlike Genius at the NME Awards.

Asked who should receive the Villain of the Year gong, he said: “Got to be Noel. I’m being serious. You’re laughing, but he’s worse than Kim-Jun f****** Tung or whatever he’s called.

“And he’s worse than Donald Trump. He’s the biggest liar and biggest faker in the business, so yeah, him. He’s worse than Piers Morgan as well.”
