Brittany Ward and Jenson Button engaged: F1 star to wed former Playboy model three years after Jessica Michibata divorce

Jenson Button has announced his engagement to model Brittany Ward after two years of dating.

The former Formula One driver revealed the news on his Twitter account on Tuesday night, sharing a photo of Ward wearing an engagement ring as the couple posed together on the beach.

The pair simply captioned the snap: “Soon to be Mrs Button!”

Button’s proposal comes just three years after he announced his split from wife Jessica Michibata, who he wed back in 2014.

He started dating Ward just three months after he announced his split from Japanese model Michibata in 2016, after just one year of marriage.

At the time, a spokeperson for Button said: “Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no one else involved.”

Back in 2015, Button admitted that the couple rarely spent much time together due to their hectic work schedules.

“We don't see each other any more than before we were married,” he told the Mail on Sunday.

“Jessie still works a lot in Japan. She enjoys her job, she models, she had a television show and has done a Japanese film.

“She enjoys working, which is great, but it obviously means that we don’t see each other very often.”

Michibata has also moved following the breakdown of her marriage to Button and gave birth to a baby girl, named Joy, in October last year.
