Kate Beckinsale appeared to be in good spirits as she cheered on the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 45-year-old actress looked unfazed by recent claims she is a "diva" as she enjoyed the game with a group of friends at the Staples Center.

Beckinsale looked sharp in a sleek black blouse and black leather leggings for the occasion.

She tied the look together with a dramatic fur coat.

The Chiswick-born actress addressed the “diva” claims in a magazine interview, in which she also revealed she is “open” to the possibility of having more children.

“All it used to take was somebody to say you were difficult or crazy,” she told Tatler.

“Not just me, other people too. There are some people who are a nightmare, who keep everyone waiting for five hours and suddenly decide they need to have a llama on set … But the ones I know who pull that kind of behaviour are men.”

The Pearl Harbour and Underworld star recently faced reports she had jumped a red carpet queue at the GQ Men of the Year awards, after Ronan Keating claimed it was a big name in a “flowing Bollywood-style dress” - a description which appeared to match Beckinsale's outfit.

Beckinsale dated actor Michael Sheen from 1995 until 2003, and they have a daughter, Lily. She was then married to director Len Wiseman for over a decade, but the couple divorced two years ago.

She said: “When you get divorced, everybody waits to see where you land. But I might not land anywhere for a bit. I’m really quite happy. It’s quite nice to have a bit of Virginia Woolf time.”
