Kylie Minogue will kick off London’s winter festivities when she switches on the Oxford Street Christmas lights.

Minogue, 47, will take to the stage outside the PANDORA Marble Arch flagship store on Sunday, November 1 to officially launch London’s festive shopping season.

Clearly excited to be pressing the switch this year, the Especially For You singer tweeted: “It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas. I. Can't. Wait!!!! See you there?!”

Minogue will be joined by special guests including Foxes, Gabrielle Aplin and a member of the cast of Matilda The Musical as well as 2014 X Factor contestants Fleur East and Ben Haenow who will perform their new singles.

They will be joined by Capital FM DJ’s Lisa Snowden and Dave Berry at the event, which will be broadcast to a global audience through Periscope for the first time.

Speaking about the annual switch on, Berry said: “This event officially marks the start of Christmas for London. The atmosphere on Oxford Street at the lights switch-on is always fantastic and it is great to be part of the Christmas countdown once again.”

Minogue has recorded a single – which could clinch the Christmas number one spot – with James Corden, to feature on her upcoming festive album, according to reports.

"James recorded the track in secret with Kylie after she asked him to feature," a source told The Sun.

"It was meant to be the jokey song on the album but producers were so impressed there's a strong chance it's going to be the lead single. James is a very good singer and the song is actually a great listen."
