US singer Nicki Minaj has been immortalised in wax – but fans of the star are not impressed.

Minaj's wax look-a-like was based on her look from her Anaconda music video and was unveiled at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.

The 32-year-old's doppelgänger - which is dressed in heels and a black leotard lavished with gold chains - is the first female rapper to have a wax figure at the museum.

Referencing the song, Madame Tussauds tweeted: “Oh. My. Gosh. Introducing the newest addition to#TussaudsVegas: the fabulous@nickiminaj! Click profile link for more photos.”

Clearly excited to be immortalised in wax, Minaj soon flooded her Instagram with pictures of the model.

She also uploaded a video from the grand unveiling showing scantily clad dancers dancing to Anaconda.

She captioned the clip: “They had the dancers ready and everything. so iconic. Thank u.”

But fans were quick to criticise the model as they struggled to see a likeness, with one commenting: “Where df did that her face dont looks like nicki minaj.”

One also questioned why the skin colour looked white, writing: “Why does it look like a white nicki minaj?? Wtf? They changed her pigment and slimed her curves.”

Another questioned the circumference of her famous derriere, tweeting: “so did y'all run out of wax when you got to the booty or...???”

Several celebrities have found themselves immortalised in wax of late.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian’s selfie taking wax doppelganger was unveiled at the London museum while Helen Mirren came face to face with three of her wax look-a-likes at a celebration of her 70th birthday last week.
