Oscars 2015: Kelly Osbourne among stars left shocked at Joan Rivers In Memoriam snub
Fans and celebrities including Kelly Osbourne were left shocked at Joan Rivers’ snub by the Oscars In Memoriam tribute.
Rivers – who died on September 4 following a complication during throat surgery – was noticeably absent from the tribute during the coveted awards ceremony on Sunday night.
The late comedian who was famed for critiquing red carpet style on her show, Fashion Police on E! also appeared in a number of films throughout her career including The Muppets Take Manhattan and The Swimmer.
She also wrote and directed the 1978 hit Rabbit Test.
Oscars Red Carpet
Osbourne, who described Rivers as her “second mum”, was the first to voice her shock at the snub and tweeted: “Am I missing something or was Joan Rivers really left out of the #Oscars memorials?"
Other celebrities followed suit including Torchwood star John Barrowman who tweeted: "They should have mentioned Joan Rivers in the #Oscar memorial."
Bob Hoskins of Who Killed Roger Rabbit fame was included following his snub at the BAFTAs.
Also on the list was Robin Williams, Mickey Rooney, Lauren Bacall, James Garner, Ruby Dee, Mike Nichols, Maya Angelou and Gabriel Marcia Márquez.
