Paloma Faith is to star as Tinker Bell in a new adaptation of J M Barrie’s Peter Pan.

The BRIT Award winning artist will don fairy wings for her role in ITV's modern adaptation of the children's classic, titled Peter & Wendy.

Yorkshire actor Zac Sutcliffe will play Pan, Hunger Games actor Stanley Tucci will take Captain Hook and Breaking Bad's Laura Fraser will play Ms Darling in the re-imagined version, which is being filmed in Luxembourg, London and Dorset.

The TV film will open in Great Ormond Street Hospital - to which Barrie donated his Peter Pan royalties - where 12-year-old patient Lucy Rose, played by actress Hazel Doupe, is reading Peter Pan. The young girl falls asleep and dreams of the story, in which she becomes Wendy.

ITV's Director of Drama, Steve November, said of the new production: "I'm delighted to be bringing J M Barrie's classic story of Peter Pan to ITV.

"This wonderful interpretation by Adrian Hodges is faithful to Barrie's original, but adds a new and unexpected dimension that makes it feel as though we are hearing the story for the first time.

"We're thrilled to have such a great cast on board to star in this exciting new drama."
