Drugs found at Prince’s home in the wake of his death were reportedly ‘mislabelled’.

Some of the more powerful pills discovered by authorities at the superstar’s Paisley Park estate were ‘counterfeit’ and contained the strong opioid fentanyl.

Nearly two dozen of the synthetic opioid pills were found in one Aleve bottle, falsely labelled as ‘Watson 385’, an official close to the investigation confirmed on Sunday.

This stamp is used to identify pills which contain a mix of acetaminophen and hydrocodone rather than fentanyl, which is 50 times stronger than heroin.

A dozen tablets were also found in a dressing room of Prince’s estate in bottles of Vitamin C and aspirin.

Prince, 57, died at home on April 21 after taking an accidental overdose of fentanyl, his autopsy confirmed.

Authorities are still investigating how the musician obtained the drugs as he had no prescriptions for any controlled substances in the state of Minnesota in the 12 months before he dies.

News of his death came a week after he was taken unconscious on a plane and given a ‘save shot’ of Narcan, which is used in suspected opioid overdoses.

The singer then spent several hours in hospital before flying home.

Prince cancelled two gigs as part of his Piano and a Microphone tour in the weeks before his death which was reportedly due to ill health.
