Within minutes of tweeting “i want @dollyparton on the show!!! #GetDollyOnGrimmy” the hash tag was trending with fans as far afield as Chile and Canada desperately tweeting the country singer to appear on the show.

Allegations of miming during her Glastonbury set on Sunday clearly haven’t deterred die hard Dolly fans who have been tweeting their excitement at the possibility of an appearance on Grimmy’s breakfast show.

One tweeter even claimed to have Dolly’s digits: "@TinaDaheley: @grimmers DOLLY UPDATE: I have her contact number now : ) #getdollyongrimmy" If she's out give me a shout Do a #meanjolene.”
