Rebekah Vardy has insisted she isn’t “remotely bothered” about Russian social media trolls directing abuse at her and fellow England wives and girlfriends.

Vardy is currently in Russia cheering on Leicester City striker husband Jamie and the rest of the flying World Cup team, who are through to the semi-finals after an emphatic win over Sweden .

A minority of people on social media have chosen to focus on the stands rather than the action on the pitch and have been trolling the wives and girlfriends who are cheering on the Three Lions.

But speaking to OK! Magazine, Vardy said that she wasn’t going to let to trolls have any impact on her and “doesn’t care” what is said.

She said: “Social media trolls from Russia have been calling the England wives and girlfriends "ugly", "hags" and "bears". I'm not remotely bothered.

“I only read it if it's pointed out to me, but I never care what anyone says and I never will. I just brush stuff like that off.”

The 36-year-old posted an image reading: “People talk about having an inner child. I don’t. I have an inner old lady who says inappropriate things, calls everyone a c*** and wants to be in bed by 8pm.”
