Rio Ferdinand must have nerves of steel after taking a ride on the world’s fastest rollercoaster hours after proposing to Kate Wright.

The loved up couple couldn’t stop smiling as they enjoyed a day out after announcing their engagement on Thursday.

The newly-engaged pair celebrated their good news at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi where they cosied up to one another as they posed for photos.

The picture was shared on the amusement park’s official Instagram account alongside the caption: “Thanks for stopping by Rio & Kate.”

The pictures were posted hours after the couple announced news of their “perfect” engagement.

Ferdinand popped the question surrounded by his three children Lorenz, 12, Tate, 10 and Tia, seven and joked he was shocked they had managed to keep his grand plan a secret.

He posted a handful of pictures to Instagram confirming the news, posting: “She said yes. How these 3 kids kept it a secret I’ll never know.”

The former footballer was then reduced to tears after his eldest son posted a touching message to his father.
