The stars may have had to brave the elements as they worked the red carpet at the premiere of The Imitation Game last night, but that didn’t stop them from trying to capture the moment with a group selfie.

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch was in need of a selfie stick as he tried to get his fellow cast and crew members into shot on his questionably large iPad at the opening of this year’s London Film Festival.

The Imitation Game premiere

Benedict – who plays Turing in the film which sees a team attempting to decipher messages encrypted by the German forces enigma machines – was flaunting his gentlemanly ways as he sheltered co-star Keira Knightley with an umbrella as the pair worked the red carpet in Leicester Square.

Keira looked elegant in a layered gold Valentino dress as she posed for selfies with fans. The 29-year-old was joined by husband and Klaxon’s singer James Righton.

Also braving the cold was Downton Abbey star Allen Leech. The actor – who was at the IWC Gala dinner the night before - was joined once again by girlfriend Charlie Webster and the pair looked as smitten as ever.

The Imitation Game is set for UK release on 14 November.
