Snoop Dogg calls for Britain to ‘boycott the BBC’ until Jeremy Clarkson is reinstated as Top Gear host
Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has found an unlikely supporter in Snoop Dogg.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper has called for Britain to boycott the “crazy” BBC until Clarkson is reinstated as a host on Top Gear.
“The BBC got to be crazy to even think about firing Jeremy Clarkson,” he told The Sun.
“He isn’t part of Top Gear - he is Top Gear. If they even think about firing him, Britain needs to boycott the BBC until he is reinstated.”
He continued: “It don’t matter what country I am in, I know if I stick the TV on in a hotel room then I am gonna get CNN and I am gonna get Top Gear.
“The reason it is syndicated all over the world is because of Jeremy and the BBC have gotta get that.”
Clarkson, 54, was suspended from the BBC show following an alleged "fracas" with producer Oisin Tymon over a hot meal in a hotel.
A petition calling for Clarkson to be reinstated as host, which gathered more than one million signatures, was last week delivered to the BBC by a man dressed as The Stig and riding a tank.
Clarkson thanked his fans for their support on Twitter, writing: "Many many thanks to all of the people who have called for my reinstatement. I'm very touched. We shall all learn next week what will happen."
