Daniel Craig attracted a swarm of Bond fans as he filmed a high speed boat chase on the River Thames for upcoming film, Spectre.

The 007 actor was joined by French actress, and new Bond girl, Léa Seydoux as the pair trailed a helicopter between Westminster and Vauxhall, against the backdrop of MI5 and the Houses Of Parliament.

But it was their stunt doubles who enjoyed most of the action during filming on Sunday evening which saw several bridges temporarily closed.

Craig - whose Star Wars Stormtrooper role was accidentally revealed last week by Simon Pegg - recently returned to filming after a knee injury forced him to fly to Manhattan for emergency surgery.

Filming for the 24th installment in the franchise has taken place at Pinewood Studios and on location in Italy, Morocco, Austria and Mexico, where the 47-year-old actor filmed explosive scenes during the country's Day of the Dead carnival.

The official James Bond Twitter feed last month announced that Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman will play a mystery woman named Estrella.

She will star alongside Italian actress Monica Bellucci (Lucia Sciarra), Christoph Waltz (Oberhauser), Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q), Andrew Scott (Denbigh), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) and Seydoux as Madeline Swann.

Spectre is set for UK release on November 6.
