The Intern exclusive featurette: Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway star in Nancy Meyers’ heart-warming new film

A brand new featurette from the forthcoming Nancy Meyers’ film The Intern, gives an insight into Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro’s characters.

Oscar-winner Hathaway, who plays the workaholic CEO of a fashion commerce company, takes on De Niro’s 70-year-old intern in the heartwarming Warner Bros film.

Speaking about De Niro’s character Ben, Hathaway says: “Jules has a lot going on, she's CEO, she knows the speed that her business runs at. She's imagining somebody who's going to slow her down.

“But he just listens to her and values her. He makes her feel seen and loved, which is what we all need

She adds: “It’s about how one wonderful person can elevate an entire group.”

Director Meyers, who is known for The Holiday, The Parent Trap and What Women Want, said of the character:

“He misses having work, he misses having a place to go. He misses the work environment and comradery - he's looking to be a part of something.

“A really strong friendship forms.”

The Intern is in cinemas October 2.
