Tom Daley is engaged! Olympic diver and Dustin Lance Black to wed after two years of dating

Tom Daley is engaged to marry boyfriend Dustin Lance Black.

The couple, who have been dating for two years, announced their engagement by registering it in The Times on Thursday morning.

It read: “The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence."

Olympic diver Daley, 21 and the 41-year-old American filmmaker started dating back in 2013, not long after Daley publically came out.

The sportsman spoke out about his sexuality for the first time in a YouTube video, saying:

“In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy.”

In an interview with Attitude magazine last year, Daley said that it “shouldn’t matter who you choose to be in a relationship with.”

He added: “I also understand that it is still news.

“I think we live in a society that is far more accepting than it was five or ten years ago, but we've still got a way to go before people no longer assume you're in a heterosexual relationship.”
