Victoria Beckham has spoken out about daughter Harper following in her footsteps, admitting that she'd rather her be a fashion designer than a pop star.

Speaking to fashion editor Suzy Menkes, the star admitted that while she had 'fun' during her time in the Spice Girls, she doesn't want the same thing for her daughter.

During an exclusive chat with Vogue at the V&A, she said: "I would rather her go into fashion than be in a pop group I have to say, but I did have fun doing that."

The 41-year-old, whose husband David was watching from the audience, admitted her three-year-old enjoyed dressing up but could also be a tomboy.

She said: "Harper loves putting on my high heels and playing with my make-up, but she also has football boots and she runs around in the garden with her brothers.

"So I am not so sure whether she will follow what you do or what I do, but I think what everyone wants for their kids is just for them to be happy, whatever that means they do."

David recently posted a photo of daughter Harper scoring a goal during a football session with brothers Brooklyn, Romeo and Ctruz.

He captioned the snap: "“Mia Hamm eat your heart out Harper Seven taking lessons from her brothers ( oh and her dad ).”

Her fashion designer mum recently joked: "Harper loves football. It’s like a dagger going into my heart."

“She’s got little shoes and a little football shirt and she runs around in the garden with her brothers. So as much as she is girly, she’s a tomboy as well.”
