Big Brother fans were today asking whether the show was on its last legs after the third housemate in a week walked out.

Old Harrovian George Askew, 19, quit yesterday, saying: "I would like to continue my private life. The fame is too much."

Last week Shabhaz Chauhdry, 37, left following fears for his mental health. Hours later Dawn Blake was ejected after vowing to quit and denouncing the show as a "pantomime".

It is the biggest exodus since the series began six years ago.

Messages on fan sites blamed producer Endemol and Channel 4 for picking vulnerable housemates. One entry said: "The format is exhausted."
