Cheeky girl Gabriela had secret miscarriage after falling pregnant with Lembit Opik's baby

The 25-year-old also claimed she regretted ever getting engaged to Opik, who is 18 years her senior.

And she has ruled out a reunion, saying "I still love him, but he's not for me."

Gabriela told how she fell pregnant in June, at first not realising that a daily recurring illness was in fact morning sickness.

It was not until she felt stabbing pains and took a test and realised she was several weeks pregnant.

However, Gabriela told the News of the World that she took the decision not to tell her MP lover about the baby as their relationship had become increasingly volatile.

She said: "I'll never forget the day, it was June 21. I just wanted to run away. I felt like I'd let everybody down, including myself.

"At the end of June we weren't getting on very well. There were lots of arguments over nothing.

"One reason was, I kept thinking 'If I am going to keep the baby, what's going to happen? Would I live with him?

"I'd have to give up my career totally and to be honest I wasn't prepared for that right now."

Gabriela claims her shock revelation in the newspaper would be the first Mr Opik had heard about the pregnancy.

Recently the MP for Montgomeryshire in Wales revealed how he had wanted to settle down and have children.

Since falling out at the end of June, when the couple had a huge row, they have not spoken.

Gabriela said: " I realised how unhappy I'd been over the past few months and decided I needed a complete break from him.

"There were a lot of text messages asking for a second chance but I wouldn't reply.

"I do still love him but I thought, 'This guy is not for me'"
