A boat bathed in sunshine. A pretty blonde by his side. And a copy of Trout & Salmon magazine in his hands.

The lady in question, his girlfriend Jane Bird, might have felt a little put out seeing her chap so engrossed in his publication featuring articles such as ‘How to Fish a Salmon Pool’ and ‘A Salmon-Fisher’s Diary’.
But as she bent over in her pink bikini, she managed to divert his attention at least for a moment.

Miss Bird, 45, and the 61-year-old TV presenter have been dating for a year and are holidaying together on the boat in Spain.
They met in a wine bar a few months after his split from his wife Ingrid.
His marriage fell apart after revelations of his infidelity.
In the war of words that preceded their divorce in April, Ingrid claimed that keen angler Tarrant often went to bed smelling of fish.
The accusation has clearly not cooled his passion for the pastime.
Nor is he the only high-profile fan of Trout & Salmon - Prince Charles and Robson Green are also subscribers.
