Sir Sean Connery: Fears over his health were played down after the Scots actor failed to attend a fashion event in New York at which he was supposed to be guest of honour

Organisers of the Dressed to Kilt show reportedly said the star cancelled his appearance to undergo health tests.

He told the Scotsman newspaper: "He had a scheduling conflict unrelated to a routine check-up he underwent earlier this week."

The spokesman said the actor was "in good form".
