The rollercoaster romantic saga between drug-addicted rocker Pete Doherty and supermodel Kate Moss has taken another dramatic turn, with Doherty vowing to win back the style icon and marry her.

The former Libertines frontman was reportedly dumped by Moss earlier this week, after the wild pair hooked up at her 31st birthday party two weeks ago.

But, during an interview with The Sun newspaper, Doherty claimed it was the actions of her family that caused problems in the fledgling relationship.

Speaking from the lavatory he uses as a dressing-room at his favourite east London pub, The George, he said: "I think the problem was that she was getting a lot of pressure from her family. I went out for Sunday lunch with them and they've named me The Crackhead.

"They think I'm bad news. But I'm not after Kate's money and I'm not interested in her fame.

"I'm in love with Kate and I think it's in the stars that we should be together. I don't know what's going on with the relationship right now but I know I've met the woman I want to be with for the rest of my life."
