Rebel Wilson: I dated 50 people in a year before finding love

Rebel Wilson revealed she had dated up to “50 people in a year” before finding love.

During a podcast appearance, the 42-year-old comedian said she had little luck on dating apps in a candid interview on the ‘U Up?’ podcast.

Despite her hard luck on dating apps she told hosts that she had happily found love with her new partner.

“I think I went out with about 50 people in that one year, but some of them were just one date and then you think, ‘Oh, no’,” she told Jordana Abraham and Jared Freid last month.

“I deliberately wanted to push myself to date a bunch of people and gain that experience, which I know is not normal, but it really helped me find out what I liked and what I didn’t like.”

During the same interview, she told the hosts a mutual friend had set her up with now revealed designer Romana Agruma.

She added: “I think that escalates things quicker, meeting someone from a trusted source. I can trust that they are who they say they are, which is something that you don't really know on the apps.

“I am now happily in a relationship. I met them at a friend’s set-up. He had known both of us for at least five years and he thought we would hit it off - and then we did!”

On Thursday, the Pitch Perfect Star took to Instagram to reveal that she was in a relationship with her new girlfriend.

She accompanied the announcement with a picture of the pair smiling.

In her post, she said: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.”

Although she has publicly announced the relationship on Thursday, the pair have been seen on numerous occasions.

The couple enjoyed a getaway in April to Utah but they were also spotted at the Super Bowl in February.

Ms Agruma, also joined her partner in Mexico for Rebel’s birthday in March.
