Rihanna fans share delight as singer set to release first music in six years for Black Panther this week

Rihanna has delighted fans as it was announced that she is set to release her first new music in six years this week.

The track, which will feature on the soundtrack for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will be released on Friday, October 28.

Marvel teased the R&B singer’s imminent release on the film’s official Twitter account and shared a short clip of the blockbuster’s title, followed by the letter “R” with the date October 28 2022 underneath.

However, it’s unclear exactly what will be released as the video has no sound and the post’s caption sported a staring eyes emoji and the hashtag “#WakandaForever”.

Despite the limited details, fans of the singer have taken to Twitter in their droves share their excitement over her return to music, with many declaring the star “is back”.

One enthusiastic fan wrote: “Rihanna’s coming back to music this Friday with the Black Panther soundtrack? The Oscars and Grammys are HERS.”

“I’m going to be the most unbearable person when Rihanna releases new music on Friday,” another tweeted.

A third added: “After nearly seven years, we made it everybody.”

“I have waited so long for this moment Lord, Rihanna is BACK,” another fan shared.

The superstar hasn’t produced new music since 2016 and hasn’t performed publicly in five years.

Away from music, the proud Bajan has enjoyed immense success with her beauty brand Fenty as well as her lingerie label Savage x Fenty.

With several successful endeavours making her a billionaire, many had doubted whether she would return to music at all.

However, she set the internet alight last month when she announced her headline performance at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show next February.

The Disturbia singer confirmed the news with a cryptic Instagram post at the time, which shows her hand extending upwards holding an American football, the caption including only a full stop.
