Katie Price's boyfriend Alex Reid opened up about his cross-dressing habit to fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemate Vinnie Jones, saying: "I'm ex-army, we dress up for a laugh."

The cage fighter, who also used to appear in Channel 4 teen soap Hollyoaks, downplayed the time he was pictured dressed as a schoolgirl, apparently known as 'Roxanne'.

He said: "It's a laugh, I mean I don't care, there's people dying all over the world. I dress up, so what? .. It was fancy dress.. I had fun doing it."

Ex-Army: But Alex Reid said he has fun dressing up

Ex-footballer and actor Jones asked him if dresses up at home, to which Reid replied: "I have done... not by myself. I've done it for a laugh with a friend of mine but it's not a big deal. Some people like to wear nappies, some people are into S&M."

Reid also denied to the housemates that he had been in a pornographic film.

Tonight's show will also see a new 12th contestant enter the house.

The celebs are still unaware of the newcomer, who will make a "spectacular entrance", according to show bosses.

Housemates have already speculated on whether they would be joined by someone new - there are 12 chairs around the dining room table but only 11 of them in there so far.

Jones and actress Stephanie Beacham have discussed the possibility of a new housemate.

Jones said: "I must say it would be easier with less people."

Beacham replied: "Yes, because we have to be so mindful with the bathrooms and if someone troublesome comes in... I think someone really truly troublesome will come in next. I'm sure I could be expected to be more troublesome than I am."

Reid will be dressing up as a woman tonight, but instead of his alter-ego Roxanne he'll take on another well-known female - Kylie.

Housemates were told this morning that instead of an eviction tonight, they would be putting on a live variety show for viewers.

Reid was told he had to pair up with singer Dane Bowers, who once went out with Reid's girlfriend Price, to sing Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan's 1988 hit pop song Especially For You.

On hearing the instruction, Bowers said to Reid: "You're Kylie," to which he replied: "I wonder why?"

Reid has said previously that if he had been offered £100,000 he would have entered the house as Roxanne.

Former madam Heidi Fleiss, DJ Jonas Altberg, glamour model Nicola Tappenden - known as Nicola T - and Ronnie Wood's ex-girlfriend Katia Ivanova were told they would be performing a Can-Can routine, and have already started work on the choreography.

One move proved a bit troublesome for Tappenden, however.

"That makes me wet myself a bit," she said, laughing.

Singer Sisqo was told by Big Brother to be a magician, with rapper Lady Sovereign as his "glamorous assistant".

Sovereign looked alarmed and said: "No, not glamorous! I can't do glamorous."

Tenko actress Beacham has to do a stand-up comedy routine, which has left her scratching her head.

"I can't do that!" she said shaking her head. "I don't know what it will be but I'll try it."

Finally, Jones has to make up a ventriloquist act, with actor Stephen Baldwin playing the part of the doll.

"Think of the children," Baldwin told a stony-faced Jones after hearing about the task.

A Celebrity Big Brother spokewoman said the housemates would be supplied with costumes for the task but, on Reid and Bowers' task, said: "No word yet on who will take which part."
