Tom Cruise 'pulled' into police probe after 'suicide bomber' threatens Church of Scientology
Hollywood star Tom Cruise is at the centre of a police probe after a potential suicide bomber made threats to the Church of Scientology.
Entertainment website TMZ said the Mission Impossible actor had been “pulled” into the investigation after the church received a phone call in April
The man, who identified himself as Muslim, reportedly asked: “Are there any bombings I can do?” before adding he “liked to do suicide bombings."
TMZ said police documents showed the caller began singing “Allah Akbar, Tom Cruise” before he hung up.
The Los Angeles Police Department is now apparently on the hunt for the man and have executed a warrant to check phone records.
Cruise is among the controversial church’s most high-profile followers along with Saturday Night Fever star John Travolta.
In April, fellow A-lister Russell Crowe revealed he considered joining the church after spending time with Cruise.
The Oscar-winning actor admitted in an interview with People Magazine that while he discussed the ‘religion’ with the actor, Cruise did not force his beliefs on him.
Last month, Tom Cruise stunned onlookers in south-west London when his helicopter touched down at the Old Rutlishian Sports' Ground in Morden.
