The 'X Factor' judges have been handed scripts in a bid to improve their one-liners.

Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow - who joined existing panellist Louis Walsh on the ITV1 show this year, replacing former stars Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell - were forced to re-shoot scenes after fumbling their words.

An insider explained: "Because three of the judges are new, they're being really scripted. They would start talking and then producers would have to run over with a bit of paper.

"They'd then memorise it and the cameras would start again. It's becoming more obvious to the acts that the judges are not doing much. Hopefully they will pick up at the live shows."

Meanwhile, the foursome were left shocked when a lewd fan flashed at them during 'The X Factor' series launch on Wednesday.

An onlooker told The Sun: "It was disgusting. No one could believe their eyes.

"Thankfully, because the lights weren't on the judges, people couldn't see the expression of horror on their faces. But it wasn't dark enough to stop security from seeing the reprobate and they wrenched him from his seat before he could even do up his flies."

The man - believed to be in his 20s - was questioned by police and then released without charge.

An ITV spokesperson said: "The incident was dealt with efficient."
