Advantage England after KP ton

12 April 2012

Kevin Pietersen hit his ninth Test hundred as England pushed for first npower Test victory over India at Lord's.

In a stunning piece of batting acceleration, Pietersen charged to three figures and got his side out of potential trouble after lunch on the fourth day. He was eventually last but one out as England were dismissed for 282.

Chasing an imposing 380 for victory, India lost two quick wickets, James Anderson accounting for Wasim Jaffer and the tourists' captain Rahul Dravid, who was harshly adjudged leg before wicket to Chris Tremlett after being struck outside the line of off-stump.

The Indians' progress was in the hands of Sachin Tendulkar, seeking a first Test hundred at Lord's, and Dinesh Karthik at 71 for two.
