Another Koumas bid rejected

12 April 2012

West Brom have rejected a £4million bid from Wigan for midfielder Jason Koumas.

It is the second bid turned down for Koumas in the space of 24 hours by the Baggies.

Birmingham offered a joint package of £5million for Koumas and last season's leading scorer Diomansy Kamara which was also not looked upon favourably.

Albion's rejection of the Latics offer could also end the interest of Everton who are understood not to be willing to pay more than £4million.

There has been speculation about Koumas' future ever since West Brom lost the Coca-Cola Championship play-off final to Derby a fortnight ago.

The 27-year-old, who is keen to return to playing Barclays Premiership football, said he would take a break before deciding on his future.

But Albion have made it clear that they are unwilling to allow any of their star players leave on the cheap.
