Barnet battle over Allen

14 April 2012

Brentford and Barnet face a High Court showdown over Martin Allen's decision to quit the Nationwide Conference club.

The 38-year-old switched to the Griffin Park club last week and guided his new side to a first win in nine games against Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday.

But Barnet claim Allen is in breach of contract and have applied for an injunction to enforce a two-month notice period. Their case will be heard on Monday.

The legal action, which has also been taken against physio Damien Doyle, could see the pair put on gardening leave for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Barnet have appointed senior players Ian Hendon and Danny Maddix as joint caretaker managers.
