BBC deal for Wilko kick

Viewers will now be able to watch Jonny Wilkinson's matchwinning drop-kick in the World Cup Final - after the BBC agreed a deal with rugby bosses.

People have been unable to watch the famous shot since the final because TV stations refused to pay the exorbitant cost of footage.

The International Rugby Board, who own the broadcasting rights to the match, were charging £6,500 for a minute of the game - around six times the usual rate, and far beyond the budget of any news programme.

As a result the BBC had imposed a blanket ban on news programmes showing any of the match and relied instead on still images of the key moments.

The BBC said it had now "concluded a deal at a fair price."
