Beijing star Ohuruogu gets off to a slow start in Belfast

Christine Ohuruogu defended her poor showing at the low-key Woodie's DIY Irish Indoor Championships in Belfast.

The Beijing Olympic 400m champion's sixth place in the 60m at the Odyssey Arena was not a major surprise but she would have been expected to do better than third in the 200m.

Ohuruogu, who had just completed a warm-weather training programme in South Africa, said: "I'm not having an indoor season so there's not really much to make out of it. I've just stepped off a plane so what I run, is what I run."
