Besiktas coach Daum on trial

Christoph Daum, whose positive test for cocaine prevented him from becoming Germany's coach last year, went on trial today on charges of buying the drug.

Daum, who now coaches Turkish side Besiktas, is charged with conspiring to purchase 100 grammes of cocaine and also faces 63 charges of illegal use of the drug during 1999 and 2000.
