Bolton release four

12 April 2012

Bolton boss Sammy Lee has released four players as he looks to make his own mark on the squad following the shock departure of Sam Allardyce earlier this month.

The Trotters have confirmed that Henrik Pedersen, Quinton Fortune, David Thompson and Cesar Martin will all be allowed to leave the club when their existing contracts expire next month.

Lee has offered new deals to Tal Ben Haim and Polish defender Blazej Augustyn, both of whom were also out of contract at the end of the season.

Pedersen scored 22 goals in 143 appearances for Bolton after signing from Silkeborg in 2001 but the Dane grew frustrated after increasingly finding himself relegated to the role of utility man.

Fortune struggled with injuries following his move from Manchester United last summer while Thompson also battled for match fitness after moving from Portsmouth in January.
