Bonds blasts Giants to win

Barry Bonds hit the longest home run in the history of Pacific Bell Park to help the San Francisco Giants chalk up their fourth win in a row by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 in the National League.

Bonds's homer, a 491ft drive to center field in the second inning, was his 43rd of the season and 610th of his career. David Bell also had a home run for the Giants.

In Phoenix, Randy Johnson reached 300 strikeouts for the season as he led the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-2 triumph over the San Diego Padres.
