Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against their bans for spot-fixing, it was reported on Saturday.

Captain Butt was suspended for 10 years - five suspended - and Amir for five after an International Cricket Council anti-corruption tribunal proved charges earlier this month. Team-mate Mohammad Asif was banned for seven years, two of which were suspended.

The trio, who have denied any wrongdoing, were accused of spot-fixing in relation to the deliberate bowling of no balls at specific moments in the August 2010 Lord's Test against England. However, reports now suggest Butt and Amir have appealed to the Swiss-based CAS against the bans through their lawyers.

The players face charges of conspiring to cheat bookmakers and conspiracy to obtain and accept corrupt payments at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 17.
