Carney and Fielden get call

12 April 2012

Great Britain coach Brian Noble has named a familiar line-up for their opening Gillette Tri-Nations match against New Zealand in Christchurch on Saturday.

Vice-captain Brian Carney and Stuart Fielden are both included despite struggling with knee problems this week while hooker Terry Newton starts after missing the warm-up game against a Newcastle select team.

Half-backs Danny McGuire and Sean Long are both included meaning Leon Pryce, who has played at stand-off for St Helens this year, reverts to a role on the wing.

Warrington-bound forward Adrian Morley features after completing his suspension and forms a powerful pack with Fielden and Jamie Peacock.

Wigan's Sean O'Loughlin starts at loose forward while James Roby of St Helens and Hull's Garreth Carvell are poised for debuts off the bench.

Another Saint, second rower Jon Wilkin, could also make his debut having been named as 17th man along with club-mate Lee Gilmour.
