Catterick call inspection

12 April 2012

Thursday afternoon's meeting at Catterick is subject to the track passing a 9.00am inspection after it was hit with a significant volume of rain.

Clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson was left with no option but to hold an official check, with more rain on the way after a very wet night.

He said: "We've had about 18 millimetres of rain overnight, and the worst forecast I've looked at says we could have as much as another 24 millimetres before noon."

He added: "That's a lot of rain and there are little pockets of water on the course at the moment.

"That isn't necessarily the end of racing as it stands, as we can move some rails and do things like that.

"But, without some daylight I can't really assess the situation further at this stage so we're going to look at 9.00am."
