Clijsters on comeback trail

14 April 2012

Kim Clijsters did not expect to hit top form on her return from a four-month injury break at the Proximus Diamond Games in Antwerp today.

The Belgian former world No1 has been out since October with what was thought to be a career-threatening wrist injury.

"I don't expect great things. I'm just happy to play again," she said. "I hope to get past one or two rounds. I have been training normally since the beginning of January. I'm still stiff around my wrist but it's not painful any more."

Clijsters faces a tough opening match against Jelena Kostanic of Croatia.
