Cole blow for McClaren

Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole is expected to be ruled out of Steve McClaren's first England squad.

On Friday, McClaren names his squad for the August 16 international against Greece at Old Trafford.

And Cole is unlikely to be in it because of an injury sustained in Chelsea's 1-0 pre-season friendly defeat to the Major League All Stars.

The result of a scan will be known later on Monday, and it is expected to confirm ligament damage to Cole's right knee, which would rule the player out for at least six weeks.
