Collingwood preferred to Yardy

England sprang a minor surprise for today's World Cup Group B match against Bangladesh by selecting just one spinner.

Graeme Swann will share the frontline bowling duties with James Anderson, Ajmal Shahzad and Tim Bresnan - with Paul Collingwood a possible to get through 10 overs too with his off-cutters.

There was therefore no place for Mike Yardy, Collingwood returning in place of the slow left-armer and Shahzad given his second chance of the tournament after also playing against India. England's bowlers would have to wait for their chance, though, after home captain Shakib Al Hasan chose to field first.

Bangladesh, who must win here to retain realistic prospects of reaching the quarter-finals, dropped Mohammad Ashraful in favour of Mahmudullah.
