Danny Cipriani not expecting England recall

Finding form: Danny Cipriani knows he needs to be playing well to earn a recall
13 April 2012

Danny Cipriani hopes his Wasps future will be resolved by next month but accepts it is too soon to expect an England squad recall.

Fly-half Cipriani is only three games into his comeback from a fractured fibula and will not be surprised if he misses out when tomorrow's England squad for the RBS Six Nations Championship is announced.

"It's about me playing well enough so that I can get back in the (England) side," he told Sky Sports 1. "I'm not sure if I've had enough game time so I'll understand if I'm not (in the squad).

"But a few more games under my belt and hopefully I will be ready. I have played in the last three games and enjoyed it."

On his Wasps future 22-year-old Cipriani added: "There are positive talks going on at Wasps. I am leaving it to my lawyer and the club to keep talking while I focus on my rugby."

Asked if he had considered a move to France after seeing Jonny Wilkinson and James Haskell revive their England careers after crossing the channel, Cipriani replied: "I just want to be playing the best rugby I can be, wherever that may be. But Wasps have the right coaches and I hope it (contract) can be resolved by February."

Cipriani first appeared in the England squad at the age of 19 ahead of the 2007 Rugby World Cup and starred in the 2008 Six Nations before losing his place following a loss of form.
