Defeat not an option for Keane

Manchester United captain Roy Keane says defeat against Manchester City is not an option

Roy Keane is adamant Manchester United will not be distracted by bitter memories of defeat in their last derby match when they face Manchester City on Sunday.

City inflicted a 4-1 drubbing in March but United skipper Keane said: "That's history. When you win a game you move on and when you lose a game you have to move on.

"At home we fancy our chances against most teams. The way they play, they will come and have a go. Kevin Keegan's a manager I have a lot of time for, they have one or two decent young players coming through so they will come and enjoy the occasion and we'll look forward to it just as much."

Keane concedes this is a must-win game for United.

He added: "The number of points we're behind, we can't afford any slip-ups."

Alan Smith should replace the suspended Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Ryan Giggs (hamstring) may return after missing the midweek win against Sparta Prague.
