Dein: It has to be Henry

14 April 2012

David Dein today claimed it would be a travesty if Thierry Henry is not crowned FIFA World Player of the Year on Monday.

The Arsenal striker has already lost out to Andriy Shevchenko in a vote for Europe's best and his club's vice-chairman can't understand why.

Henry is up against the Ukrainian again on Monday as well as Barcelona's Ronaldinho for a title decided by the opinions of international coaches and captains.

Dein said: "I have not seen a better player in the world than Henry in the last year. He is right on top of his game.

"He has scored 19 goals already this campaign and 170 goals for the club in five years. Not only that, he makes more goals than he scores. He is an all-round player and he only scores great goals.

"It would be a travesty if he doesn't win. It would be a crying shame."
