Didier Drogba still stunned over death of fans

Didier Drogba goes into tonight's Champions League tie against Liverpool still struggling to come to terms with the death of 22 Ivory Coast fans.

The tragedy occurred before Ivory Coast's World Cup qualifier against Malawi when a wall collapsed inside the stadium.

Drogba and Chelsea team-mate Salomon Kalou played the game and only found about the incident after they had secured a 5-0 victory.

Drogba said: "I find it difficult to cope with it, like everyone in the Ivory Coast. We are going through a difficult time. Everyone is really shocked.

"We had scored five goals and were really happy and then someone came to tell us that many people had died. We didn't know why it happened but to find out was a big drama.

"A few of us went to the hospital the following day to visit people. This is something that has never happened in the Ivory Coast and everyone is trying to find out why it happened. We want to make sure it never happens again."
