England chase 110 for victory

12 April 2012

Monty Panesar spun England towards a third straight Test victory over West Indies at Chester-le-Street today.

Left-arm spinner Panesar claimed a five-wicket haul, including three in 24 deliveries, to decimate the West Indian middle-order and leave England with a chase of 110 to complete a 3-0 series success.

Fast bowler Steve Harmison weighed in with a couple, including a superb full-length delivery which ripped out Fidel Edwards' off-stump.

Once again Shivnarine Chanderpaul defied England's push in tandem with last man Corey Collymore.

Chanderpaul finally perished when he was bowled aiming a slog-sweep at Panesar, having top-scored with 70.
