Chelsea's new left-back Abdul Baba Rahman has made his first visit to the club's training ground in Surrey as he prepares to begin his Premier League career with the champions in the coming weeks.

The 21-year-old's move to Chelsea from Bundesliga side Augsburg was confirmed minutes after the club's loss to Manchester City on Sunday and, just two days later, the defender has made the trip to Cobham to look at Chelsea's facilities and give his first interview to Chelsea TV.

In a series of vines posted on the Blues' official Twitter account on Tuesday, Baba Rahman was seen arriving at Chelsea's training ground before he took a series of photos with his new jersey and then ended his day by speaking to the club's television channel.

Rahaman arrives in west London after one season at Augsburg where he was rated as the best left-back in the German top-flight last season after helping the club qualify for the Europa League.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admitted Rahman's capture was vital in not only strengthening his options at left-back following Filipe Luis' departure to Atletico Madrid this summer, but also important in allowing him to shuffle his back line around when needed.

"It is important because he is a left-back, so he can compete with [Cesar] Azpilicueta," the Portuguese tactician said after Rahman's transfer had been announced.

"At the same time, Azpilicueta can compete with [Branislav] Ivanovic for the right-back position, so he replaces Filipe Luis in the balance of the squad."
