Alan Pardew: Crystal Palace got the result they deserved for attacking endeavour

Alan Pardew felt Crystal Palace got the result they deserved after a bold, attacking game plan earned them a 3-1 victory at Anfield.

Yannick Bolasie and Liverpool-born Scott Dann grabbed goals for the visitors either side of a Philippe Coutinho strike to send Palace ahead of Liverpool and into eighth.

The Eagles are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches against the Anfield giants, and Pardew was delighted with the endeavour of his side.

"I thought it was a terrific game," he said. "We made the decision to take the game to Liverpool and got ourselves the first goal. For 15 or 20 minutes [after that] we forgot our game plan. We needed half-time.

"But our ambition was rewarded with that late goal. The problem with this team is it doesn't trust how good it can be.

"When we went toe-to-toe it was an even game, but we needed to stay in that mode."
