Alexis Sanchez 'happy for Arsenal' despite sulking after being substituted during victory over Swansea

Alexis Sanchez declared himself 'happy for Arsenal' despite looking anything but after a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Swansea on Saturday.

Goals from Olivier Giroud and Sanchez, sandwiched between two deflected Alex Iwobi strikes credited as own goals to Jack Cork and Kyle Naughton, put them in cruise control and sent Swansea to the bottom of the league.

But after looking visibly frustrated following the draw at Bournemouth earlier this month, Sanchez again threw his gloves to the ground when the electronic board displayed his number at the Liberty Stadium.

The Chile international was taken off with 11 minutes to go as Danny Welbeck made his first Premier League appearance since May after a lengthy injury lay-off.

Sanchez threw a coat over his head as he perched on the bench for the final stages of the game.

"I did not want to take a gamble on him," said Arsene Wenger.

"There’s no problem there. The culture is different. Some South Americans are different from Europeans."

And the 28-year-old took to Instagram to assure supporters he was feeling positive as Arsenal kept pace with Premier League rivals in the title race.

He posted: "Happy for our victory and for our team..."
